And the flowers and the trees ...


I don't shoot nearly enough outdoor portraits as I'd like to, and I really would like to change that. Being outside offers new opportunities for expression and experimentation that a studio can't provide. It's a fun challenge too and a good opportunity to breathe in some fresh air.

This week I photographed a friend of mine who is no foreigner to being "shot" and an absolute pleasure to photograph. We took the pictures at Humboldhain Park, where Nazis had built a massive anti-aircraft facility during the war, a fact that Sigi - my friend - was really enthusiastic in bringing to my attention, and which now I'm eager to let you know about if you didn't know about it before. We didn't have intentions nearly as evil though - all we wanted to do is appreciate the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees ...

Sigi
